Pop Up Camper

There are different types of campers out on the market. RV's, fifth wheels, trailers, campers and pop up campers. Pop up campers are also called folding trailers. They have a box on top that you crank to open up the pop up tent. Once set up and opened, they have all kinds of sleeping accommodations at either end and a large centre area with a dinette and galley area for cooking.

Pop Up Camper Benefits

There are many benefits to camping with a pop up camper. Due to their weight and size, they are often able to be towed by a small vehicle like a car rather than a powerful truck. No doubt you will be surprised to see exactly how small the mini pop up campers are. You can actually move them around just by pulling them yourself! You will also find that with a bit of practice, regular sized pop up campers are easy to move around and negotiate into tight spaces. Pop up campers are flat and small when you travel with them, so they are lightweight and streamlined. Once you are into a campsite, all you need to do is release the camper from the towing vehicle and pop up the tent! Pop up tents are cool for summer camping. Since the tent portion on top is supported by tent canvas with lots of screened in windows, you will feel cool breezes come through. No stuffy, hot air in there but you can still get air conditioning in your camper for those warmer climates.

Best Time to Buy a Pop Up Camper

The best time to be a pop up camper is the same for buying any type of camper or RV. During late summer, camper brokers/dealers are looking to get rid of the current year's models. They need to make room for the new models that they are ordering. This may be a good time to begin your hunt.

Of course, you can always try your luck at any time of the year. If buying used, a seller can be anxious to sell their camper at any time of the year. What you need to do is find out why they are selling it and then try and capitalize on one aspect of it. For example, maybe they have just purchased a brand new pop up camper. If so, knowing this can be advantageous to you. Casually work it into your conversations and dealings with the seller that getting rid of their old camper will save them money in storage fees, etc.

Whatever you end up choosing, I'm sure you and your family will have hours of fun camping with your pop up camper!

Pop up campers bring back fond memories of my youth. It's surprising how much room there is in one of these.

We went through two pop-ups while my children were small. Now my wife and I have a Travel Trailer. But I'm particularly fond of the Pop-up and it brings back a lot of great memories. This was an informative and enjoyable article.

Geo. James, We had one of these when I was a kid in the Rockies. I have vivid memories of it. But I solved the need for having one of these now by just buying a good chunk of the wilderness and living right in it in a home, of course. No need to camp anymore! Kind Regards

Very helpful information. I have been considering a pop-up. The camper news which followed your hub was a bit off-puting though. Good hub anyway.
